For eight years she has researched the interplay of holistic healing, religion and medical tourism in Brazil with the medium John of God. Summer 2016 she walked the Camino de Santiago in Spain with students for a comparative study of healing and pilgrimage.
Dr. Moore has a Juris Doctorate (law) and a Ph.D. in Anthropology from the University of California, Berkeley. She is best known for her studies on the intersection of law, gender, and culture in rural Indian. She published Gender, Power and Resistance in India.
